Every year, I write personal and professional resolutions. And unlike many, I often accomplish them. This year, I thought I’d try something different. I’ve been paying more and more attention to what I put in my body, and to that end, I want to try out some different ways of eating throughout the year. Some will stick; others (like going off alcohol) won’t, but in the long run, I know I’ll feel healthier and happier for it.
(I realize this isn’t about travel, but it’s about food, and travel and food go together well! Plus, if I only blog when I travel, it’ll be sliiiim pickin’s!)
January: ditch processed foods. every week, cook 1 big batch meal and freeze. No alcohol (I know; what am I thinking?)
February: 1 day a week: no meat
March: no sugar (exception: alcohol bc I can’t go cold turkey. no sugar makes me angry. alcohol soothes the beast!)
April: buy only organic produce
May: buy only organic/ grass fed meat or wild caught fish
June: no dairy (including cow and sheep, butter, all my “cheats”)
July: no red meat
August: 4 fruits or vegetables a day
September: cook a new recipe every week
October: juice every week
November: buy part of a cow
December: find healthy holiday baking options
