Overcoming a Scarcity Mindset

Most of us have a love/hate relationship with money. I know I did for a long time. I felt like wanting money would make me...I dunno...a sellout somehow. I saw people with money as “those people” and then there was the rest of the world who had to struggle. And there was some honor in the struggle.

Well, as I’m sure you can relate, I got tired of struggling! I’ve run my marketing firm for 15 years, and about 10 of those, I lived paycheck to paycheck.

I had what’s called a “money scarcity mindset:” this what we have when we think there’s not enough money for us to do the things we want. It’s why we struggle. Have you ever said…

I can’t afford that…

It’s a luxury…

That’s for other people…

If so, you’ve suffered from a money scarcity mindset! But don’t worry. It’s really common and we’re going to reset your mindset so you accept abundance as your right.

Ask yourself: How do I feel about abundance and wealth? Do I feel I am worthy of it? Why or why not?

What Thoughts Are You Listening To?

The fact is: our thoughts create our reality. Think about that. Our thoughts...create our reality.

So if you think that manifesting with the Goddesses is a bunch of hooey...guess what? You're right! It absolutely won't work if you don't believe in it.

I struggled with this for a while because it just seemed too...easy to get whatever I wanted simply by thinking about it. Why isn't everyone super rich and happy if that's the case. Right?

The thing is, most people can't imagine that they can have whatever they want in life. So they continue to struggle and complain about how hard life is. The Universe/Goddess hears that and assumes that's what those people want...and gives them more difficulty.

Reframing Your Thoughts

More than likely, you have this scarcity mindset out of fear.

Fear of what? Fear of wanting it and not getting it? Fear of it not making you happy? Fear of not being worthy?

Acknowledging that fear is huge, and it can help you break down that scarcity mindset.

The next time you have a negative thought, I invite you to replace it with a more positive one. Here’s an example.

Old Thought: I’ll never be able to charge X for my work.

New Thought: I’ve been charging X for my work for a long time, and that’s my comfort zone. But what would happen if I got out of that zone and charged more?

Old Thought: I can't afford to take a vacation.

New Thought: A vacation is important to me, so I'm going to commit to setting aside $X each month to make it a reality.

It'll take practice to overcome that negative voice that's been telling you that you can't have what you want, but if you practice replacing and reframing your thoughts, it'll happen!
