Not Living Your Authentic Life? It's Time to Let Go of Something

As my constant readers know, I'm big on manifesting change and magic in my life.

I manifested a move to Italy.

I manifested the home I live in.

I manifested love.

But manifesting didn't always come easy. There were times after my divorce when I'd get so frustrated that what I wanted hadn't come to fruition.

What I didn't understand was that the past stories, emotions, and traumas I refused to let go of were holding me back.

You Can't Be in Two Places at Once

So many of us are stuck in the past. If you’ve gone through a divorce, you may feel bitterness. Pain. Loneliness.

If your children have flown the nest, you may feel a loss of sense of purpose. You may feel adrift. Useless.

If you’ve lost someone close to you, you may feel that void. You may not know what’s next, and that may scare you.

All of these are normal emotions, but we want to make sure they don’t interfere with us living our lives NOW.

Besides emotions, we can also hold onto stories and traumas. It's easy to slip into a victim mentality, believing that you've been wronged and nothing good will ever happen to you.

Staying stuck in the past keeps you from being in the present. It also blocks you from manifesting future desires.

When You're Ready to Let Go

Only YOU can decide you're ready to let go of the past to make room for the future.

How can you let go of what no longer serves you?

There are many ways.

I'm a fan of moon ceremonies. You can burn pieces of paper with the things you're ready to let go of written on them during a full moon. You can write a list of them in your journal. You can write a letter to someone you've been holding onto, releasing them and forgiving them for any wrong you feel they've done to you.

You can also work with the Goddess Kali, the Hindu Goddess of Death. Now, when I say death, I don't mean a literal death. Instead, it's a figurative death of those things that are holding you back from your true potential.

You can work with Kali when:

  • You’re feeling stuck or blocked

  • You have an attachment to something that’s no longer working (like a relationship)

  • You’re in pain and can’t move forward

  • You have an unhealthy mindset

You can put a picture or statue of her on your altar if you have one. If you work with crystals, black tourmaline, obsidian, and smoky quartz can help attract Kali.

A Free Gift for You

I've created a beautiful meditation working with Kali to release what no longer serves you. It's my way of saying thank you for reading my blog! I hope in doing this meditation (as many times as it takes! We always have something to let go of!), you are able to let go of the past and clear space for your authentic life!
